Growing Up in Nevada
Bob Beers moved to Nevada with his parents at age 11. His father worked at the Nevada Test Site, while his mother taught for a few years before earning an advanced degree from UNLV and becoming a Certified Marriage and Family Therapist. Today, they are retired and living in Sun City Summerlin.
Bob attended Cashman Jr. High and graduated from Clark High School with high honors in 1977. He was active in the Clark County School District's music programs, and currently keeps two guitars, a bass guitar, a trombone and a trumpet within easy reach in his den at home.

Bob was active in the community, even as a youngster. He worked on telethons, door-to-door fundraising for several causes, and service projects with the Boy Scouts. His scoutmaster, Ken Johnson, became his father-in-law in 1982. Today, Ken (and Bob's mother-in-law Grace) also live in the Sun City Summerlin retirement community, where they are active in Bob and Sarah's Church, Mountain View Presbyterian.
